A range of organisations carry out road safety research in New Zealand.
The LTSA is responsible for co-ordinating this research to ensure
resources are used to the best advantage. As part of this process the LTSA
publishes a yearly summary of road safety research entitled New Zealand Road Safety Research.
The Road Safety Trust funds research projects and related activities which
are beneficial to road safety. The LTSA advises on and oversees all research
funded by the Trust. The Trust also offers Road Safety Research Scholarships
for Masters and Doctoral candidates which are administered by the NZ Vice
Chancellors’ Committee. Applications for these close on 1 October each year.
